What is the Flyte assistant
The Flyte assistant answers your team's how-to questions, walks through tasks and trains new staff. Here's where to find it and what it can and can't do.
The Flyte assistant is an AI assistant built into the team portal. Ask it how Flyte works and it answers in plain language, walks you through a task step by step, helps you troubleshoot, and can train new staff in short lessons. It is like having someone who knows the guides by heart sitting next to you.
Good to know
The Flyte assistant is switched on per account. If you can't find it, it isn't switched on for your account; your platform support team can tell you more.
#Where to find it
Open Messages from the top bar, go to the Support tab, and choose Ask Flyte, pinned at the top of the list. Type your question and press Enter.
When you ask its name, it introduces itself as Flyte.
#What it's good for
- How do I…? questions: "How do I send a visual for approval?", "How do I set up a new factory?"
- Step-by-step walkthroughs, with pages, tabs and buttons named exactly as they appear on screen, in bold.
- Troubleshooting: "The customer says they didn't get the confirmation email. What should I check?"
- Explaining why something works the way it does: "Why does the customer have to confirm an order they placed?"
- Training: "I'm new. Teach me how orders work." See Learning with training lessons.
- Drafting wording for a customer or factory, safely. See below.
It keeps most answers short, and tells you who is affected by a step where it matters: who gets an email, what the customer sees, what the factory sees.
#What it can't see or do
The assistant answers from the Flyte guides only.
- It can't see your data. It has no access to your orders, customers, products, purchase orders, prices or messages.
- It can't take any action in the system. It can't confirm an order, send an email or change a setting.
- If you ask about a specific order or customer, it explains how to look it up yourself.
If the guides don't cover your question, it says plainly that it isn't sure rather than guessing, and suggests Send to a human. See Sending a conversation to a human.
#It knows which features you have
Some Flyte features are switched on per account. The assistant knows which are on for yours and won't describe one you don't have as available. If you ask for one that's off, it tells you so and suggests your platform support team.
#Drafting for customers and factories
You can ask the assistant to draft an email or message. It follows strict rules so drafts are safe to send:
- For customers, it never includes buy prices, factory costs, margins or mark-ups, which factory makes the goods, or internal notes and team-only steps. If your request needed one of those, it leaves it out and tells you what it left out and why.
- For factories, it never includes your sell prices, margins, or customer details beyond what the factory needs to make and ship the goods.
#Your company only
The assistant serves your company only. It won't discuss or compare against any other business that uses Flyte, and it has no information about them. It also won't discuss how the platform is built or run; those are questions for your platform support team.
#Common questions
Is the assistant a person? No. It's an AI assistant. Press Send to a human to reach a person.
Can it tell me where a particular order is up to? No. The team assistant can't see your data, but it can tell you exactly where to look.
Can it make mistakes? Any AI can. It says when it isn't sure, and you should check anything important on the screen or with your platform support team.
