After a quote is accepted

Turn an accepted quote into a customer record, products and an order, and, if your account has Shopify connected, a Shopify draft order.

1 min read

An accepted quote shows the locked-in quantities and prices, and the client and settings become read-only. It does not create an order by itself. Instead, the Turn it into work actions help you set up what the order needs.

#Step by step

  1. Open the accepted quote.
  2. If the client isn't a customer yet, choose Actions → Turn it into work → Create customer. Then finish their contacts and addresses in Customers.
  3. Choose Build product to create products from the quote's styles. The action then reads Product built ✓.
  4. Raise the order from Orders once the customer and products exist. See Creating a manual order.

#Shopify draft order

This section applies only if your account has its Shopify shop connection switched on. If it isn't, the action says "Shopify is not configured."

Actions → Turn it into work → Create Shopify draft order is available once a quote is Accepted.

  1. Click it and confirm.
  2. Flyte creates a Shopify draft order with one custom line per style. Each line's title is the style name plus its description; the quantity and unit price are what the client chose (the first break if no choice was recorded). The products do not need to exist in Shopify.
  3. You'll see "Created Shopify draft order [name]". The menu item becomes Open Shopify draft, which opens the draft in a new tab.

Can I make a second draft from the same quote? No. It links to the one already made.

#Other actions

  • Duplicate — a new Draft with a new number and link, the same client, settings and styles.
  • Delete quote — permanent. There is no Graveyard for quotes.

#Common questions

Accepting created an order, didn't it? No. Accepting never creates an order.

Why are the client fields greyed out? An accepted quote's client and settings are read-only.
