Price requests

How a customer's "Request a price" on a price-on-enquiry product reaches you, and how to turn it into a quote.

1 min read

Some products are switched to Price on enquiry, so customers see a Request a price button instead of a price. When a customer uses it, the request lands in Visuals as an enquiry for you to price and quote.

#What the customer does

On a price-on-enquiry product, the customer presses Request a price and gives the sizes, quantities and a note. A price-on-enquiry product can't be added to their order basket, so this is the only way they can ask for it.

#What you see

  • The request arrives as a customer enquiry with a Price requested chip.
  • A Price requested filter, with a count, appears beside the list filters on Visuals.

#Step by step

  1. Open Visuals and use the Price requested filter.
  2. Open the enquiry and read the sizes, quantities and note.
  3. Press Quote this. A Draft quote opens for that customer and contact.
  4. The quote has one style per product, with the requested quantity as its quantity break, priced at $0.00. The sizes are in the style's notes. The request reference and the customer's note go into Internal notes.
  5. Enter your price, press Save details, and press Send to client.

Good to know

a quote made from a price request shows $0.00 until you enter a sell price. That is expected; price it before you send.

#What happens next

The customer gets the quote and can accept or decline it. See Sending a quote and the customer's response.

#Common questions

Can I add a price-on-enquiry product to an order myself? Yes, but the order line reads Price on enquiry — enter price, and the order won't save or confirm until you type a price.

Does price on enquiry affect what the factory is paid? No. Buy prices and the factory are not affected.
