Product and price changes from factories

Factories can propose changes to the products they make and to the prices on their POs. Nothing changes until your team approves it in Approvals.

#Product updates

A factory can propose changes to a product's description, style, fabric, technique, colours, size group, size chart, MOQ, lead time, volume, images and buy price breaks, among other details.

• Approve writes the changes onto the product. On a base product, they flow on to the customer products linked to it.
• Reject changes nothing.

Your store contact email (Settings → General) is emailed when a product update arrives.

Good to know

for pricing, only buy prices are taken from the factory. Your sell prices and markups are kept. If the factory's price went up and your sell price didn't, that is by design; re-price in Products if you need to.

#Which open POs take a new buy price

When you approve new buy prices, Flyte first lists every open PO (Draft, Submitted or Not Approved) that carries the product, showing old price → new price, all ticked.

• Leave a PO ticked to re-price it on its own quantities, recalculate its totals, note the change on its timeline and re-send it to the factory.
• Untick a PO to keep its current price.

POs in production never change. A PO's price is agreed once the factory starts production.

#Line price changes on a PO

A factory can propose a new unit price on one style, or one extra line, of a single PO, such as a surcharge. It shows as a Line price change with the PO, the line, the current and proposed prices, and the factory's reason. This is only possible while the PO hasn't started production.

• Approve changes only those lines on that PO and recalculates the totals.
• Reject keeps the current price.

#The price gate

While a product price or line price change is pending, its PO can't go into production. The factory's Accept is held and you can't set production by hand; the item shows in To Get Done. Approve or reject it to release the PO.

#Extra charges (PO custom line item)

A factory can propose an extra line on a PO, such as a setup charge, with a description, quantity and unit price.

• Approve adds it to the PO as a custom line. If the factory's size group isn't set up on your account, it goes under the default one-size group, with a note.
• Proposals can't be edited. If the amount is wrong, reject it with a reason, or approve it and adjust the PO yourself.

#What the factory sees

After you decide, the factory is emailed at its notification contacts and sees the decision in its portal. Its copy of the PO updates.

Why can't the factory accept the PO? A price change on it is waiting for your decision.

Can I change the quantity on a factory's extra charge? Not on the proposal. Approve it and edit the PO, or reject it with a reason.
