Holds, splits, merging and deleting

Put an order on hold and release it, split an order or a delivery, merge drafts, and delete or restore a draft order.

Orders don't always go in a straight line. These tools handle the common detours: pausing an order, splitting it, combining drafts, and removing one.

#Putting an order on hold

  1. Open the order and choose Actions → Put on hold….
  2. Pick a reason: Unpaid deposit, Commercial dispute, Customer decision, Quality issue or Other.
  3. Add a note.

The factory is told. The order shows as On Hold (or Partial On Hold).

To resume, choose Actions → Release hold. The work goes back to where it was.

Good to know

you can't release a hold the factory placed. The release is refused; talk to the factory.

#Splitting

Action Use it to
Split order (A / B) Divide one order into two.
Partial delivery (A1 / A2) Deliver part of an order separately. It stays with the same factory and keeps its PO and dates.
Shipment split Split how the order ships.

All three are under Actions in the workspace and in the row ⋯ menu on Orders.

#Merging drafts

On Orders, tick two or more drafts for the same customer and press Merge. The oldest keeps its number.

#Deleting

You can delete draft orders. Tick them on Orders and press Delete, or use Actions → Delete order in the workspace. Deleted orders go to the Graveyard, where they can be restored.

#Common questions

Can I merge orders for different customers? No. Merging needs drafts for the same customer.

I deleted a draft by mistake. Restore it from the Graveyard.
