Detailings (labels, neck tape and tabs)

Build a customer's library of neck labels, neck tape, care labels and woven tabs, and attach them to products so the factory always sees them.

2 min read

Detailings are the finishing touches that are not a logo placement: a printed neck label, branded neck tape, a care label, a woven tab. Flyte keeps them as a library on each customer, so you set one up once and attach it to any of that customer's products. The factory then sees exactly which label goes in which garment, on the purchase order.

#How detailings work

  • Each customer has a library of detailings.
  • You attach detailings from the library to that customer's products, or to products on an enquiry.
  • A detailing cannot be created in the middle of an enquiry or on a product. It is always created on the customer first. This keeps one source of truth.
  • Detailings are not available on base products. A base product is shared by every customer, so one customer's label would show on everyone's version.

#Step by step: add a detailing to a customer's library

  1. Open the customer and go to the Detailings tab. (The customer must have been saved once first.)
  2. Press Add detailing.
  3. Enter a Description and upload a Thumbnail. Both are required.
  4. Optionally add a Size.
  5. Optionally upload an Artwork file. Only your team and the factory see this; the customer does not.
  6. Optionally add Internal notes. These are never shown to the customer.
  7. Press Save detailing.

#Step by step: attach detailings to a product

  1. Open the customer product and go to Artwork & files.
  2. Press + Add Detailings.
  3. Tick the detailings you want, from the customer's library and any shared ones.
  4. Press Add selected.

Adding detailings never replaces any already on the product.

You do the same on enquiry lines with + Add Detailings.

#Editing and deleting

  • Editing a library detailing updates every product carrying it, including jobs that are already with the factory. A detailing is a standing spec, so correcting it once corrects it everywhere.
  • Deleting a library detailing leaves it on the products that already have it. The confirmation tells you how many products keep it.

Watch out

Because edits reach jobs already at the factory, tell the factory through the PO's messages if you change a detailing on work they have already started.

#Who sees what

Who Sees
Your team Everything, under Logos & Detailings on POs, orders and products.
The factory Description, thumbnail, size and artwork file, under Logos & Detailings on its board and POs.
The customer Description, thumbnail and size. Never the artwork file or internal notes.

#Common questions

There is nothing to pick under + Add Detailings. The customer's library is empty. Add detailings on the customer's Detailings tab first.

Can I add a detailing to a base product? No. Attach it to the customer products made from the base.

The factory says the label on a PO looks different from what was agreed. Library edits reach every product carrying the detailing, including jobs already at the factory. Check the library entry on the customer, and message the factory on the PO.
