Product images and files

Upload photos and files to a product, choose the main image that shows everywhere, and see what the factory and customer get.

2 min read

Each product has one Artwork & files tab for everything visual: its renders, logos, detailings and supporting files. The primary image you choose here is the thumbnail used across Flyte: on orders, POs, the customer portal and the factory board.

#The Artwork & files tab

The tab has four areas, top to bottom:

  • Artwork — the product's renders (A1, B1, C1 …) on one row you can scroll sideways, with the artwork colours and the artwork PDFs that go with them. You can add images by hand here too.
  • Logos — the logos placed on the product: position, size and colours. Save to library keeps a logo for the customer's next job; Add from library reuses one.
  • Detailings — neck labels, tapes, care labels and tabs. See Detailings.
  • Other files — everything else attached to the product, such as spec sheets, logo exports and files the factory uploaded.

What you can do:

  • Upload new files.
  • Drag images to reorder them.
  • Click ★ on an image to make it the primary image. This is the thumbnail everywhere.
  • Click an image to open it full size.
  • Click × to delete a file.
  • Use the Visible to customer switch on any image, file, logo or detailing to choose what your customer sees in their portal.

Tip

The Missing images tab on Products lists every base and customer product with no photo. Work through it before a new range goes live so customers and factories are not looking at blank tiles.

The factory sees the logo placements and artwork with the product on its purchase orders.

#When a product changes after a PO was sent

When a purchase order is sent to a factory, Flyte records each product's spec at that moment, including images, logo placements, artwork colours, detailings and the artwork file. If you change the product later, the PO's Products tab shows Product has changed since this PO was sent, and Compare shows what changed. The factory keeps seeing the version that was sent. See Submitting a purchase order.

#Duplicating a product

Duplicate clears the files on the copy. Upload the new product's own images after saving it.

#Common questions

A product shows no thumbnail. Upload an image on Artwork & files and click ★ on it.

I uploaded a better photo but the old one still shows. Click ★ on the new photo to make it primary.

Will the customer see every file? The customer sees the product's images in their portal. Detailing artwork files and internal notes are never shown to customers.
