Pausing emails on one order

Sometimes you want to stop emails about one particular order without changing anyone's settings: a sensitive job, an order you're sorting out by phone, or one where the customer has asked you to go quiet. Every order has a Customer emails card for exactly this.

#Where to find it

Open the order. On the Order details tab, the Customer emails card is in the right-hand column.

It lists every email the customer can get about that order, grouped by stage: Draft, Submitted, Production, International shipping and Local shipping. Each line says when the email fires, and shows Sent dd/mm/yy once it has gone.

#Step by step

• To stop one email, switch it off.
• To stop everything, press Pause all emails for this order. Your individual switches are kept, so resuming puts back exactly what you had.

#What happens to the buttons

Buttons whose only job is to send one of these emails grey out while it's off, for example Send for Review & Confirmation, Re-send confirmation email and the panel print Send Approval. Hovering over them says "This email notification is turned off". They change as soon as you flip the switch.

Actions that only email as a side effect still work. Confirming an order still confirms it; it doesn't send the email.

#It decides whether, never who

The card controls whether an email goes. It never changes who receives it: that's always the order's contact, if they have order emails on.

Good to know

Visual, artwork and job sheet emails belong to the visual, not the order, so they aren't switched here.

#Common questions

A send button is greyed out. That email is switched off for this order.

I confirmed the order but the customer wasn't emailed. Order confirmed is switched off on this order, or the order has no contact, or the contact has order emails off.

Does pausing an order stop follow-up reminders? Yes. Reminders are never sent on a paused order.
