Sections and powers

What each permission section opens in the team portal, what the extra powers allow, and how to give someone the right access.

2 min read

Each team member sees only the parts of Flyte you give them. Access is built from sections, which open pages, and powers, which allow particular actions. You set both when you add or edit someone in Settings → Team & access.

#Sections

Group Section Opens
Sales & customers Orders Orders, quotes and visuals
Customers Customer records and people, and View as Customer
Approvals The approval centre
Messages The Messages page
Lead Generation Leads
Production Products Products
Purchase Orders Purchase orders
Factories Factories
Freight Shipments and landed costs
Business Financials Financials, Payments and Team Performance
Web store The public web store, if your account has the online store switched on
Settings Settings, view only unless they also have Can edit Settings

Everyone gets the Dashboard, whatever is ticked. The Dashboard only shows cards for pages the person can open. For now, the To get done page shows to the owner only.

Good to know

Financials is enforced on the server, not only hidden from the menu. Someone without it can't reach payment or margin figures, and won't see an order's Costs & margin tab.

#Powers

Power Allows
Can edit Settings Saving in Settings
Can manage the team Opening Team & access: adding people, changing access, sending links, and setting everyone's team emails
Can connect AI tools (MCP) Connecting an approved AI tool under their own login, read-only. Needs AI assistant access switched on in Settings → Integrations
Can let AI tools edit the calendar Lets a connected tool add, move and cancel calendar entries. Needs the previous power

Full access gives every section and every power: everything except ownership.

#Step by step: change someone's access

  1. Go to Settings → Team & access.
  2. Open ⋯ on their row and press Edit.
  3. Tick or untick sections and powers. All ticks a whole group.
  4. Press Save.

The change applies the next time they load a page.

Watch out

Removing a section someone uses every day hides the page from them immediately on their next page load. Check with them before restricting access.

#Common questions

Someone can see Settings but can't save. Give them Can edit Settings.

Someone can't see a page. Edit them and tick that section.

Someone needs View as Customer. Tick Customers.

Someone can't see the Costs & margin tab on orders. That needs Financials.
