Pricing, exchange rates and freight settings
Set default mark-up tiers and exchange rates, see how sell prices are calculated, and set up carriers, freight tables and local delivery days.
Two settings pages drive your prices and your delivery dates: Settings → Pricing & FX and Settings → Shipping & freight. Getting them right means sell prices come out correctly and the dates customers are shown are realistic.
#Pricing & FX
#Default mark-up tiers
The mark-up used for customers who don't have tiers of their own. Each tier has a Code, a Markup % and a Multiplier (60% is 1.60×). Press + Add tier to add one.
#Exchange rates
Rates are from US dollars. Each currency shows a Manual rate, a Live rate and Last updated.
- Press Fetch live rates.
- Press Apply live → stored to copy them into the stored rate.
Pricing uses the stored rate. Press + Add to add a currency.
#How sell prices are calculated
Settings → Shipping & freight shows the formula, read only:
Sell = (Buy ÷ FX + Branding ÷ Branding FX + Freight) × Markup
Freight is already in your local currency, so it's added after conversion.
#Shipping & freight
#Carriers
The list of carriers offered on POs.
#Freight tables
One card per freight method, for example Air and Sea.
- Default (or Make default) — new orders start on this method, and it drives the arrival date customers see.
- Transit buffer — days added to the factory's ETD for this method.
- Bands — Volume from (m³) and Charge. Freight is charged on product volume, not weight, and a product pays the last band it reaches. Add band adds one.
- + Add new freight table adds a method.
Watch out
Deleting a freight table tells you how many products and open orders use it first. Products priced from a deleted table get $0 freight.
Customers can only pick freight methods you have freight tables for.
#Local delivery
The leg from your warehouse to the customer, after air or sea. It's days only, never a price.
- Default local delivery (days) and Default local carrier.
- Regions — a Region, what it Covers (regions or cities matched against the delivery address; the first match wins) and its Days. Add region adds one.
- Rural add-on — extra days for rural addresses — and Rural address markers, words that mark an address as rural, matched as typed (for example RD).
These save as you edit, and an example line shows the sum.
#The one date rule
Every expected date in Flyte uses the same sum:
Expected delivery = factory lead time + air or sea transit + local delivery days, when the order comes through your warehouse.
- A PO shipping direct to the customer skips the local leg.
- Factory closures are warnings only. They never move a date.
The same sum drives the earliest date on the customer's confirmation page, the URGENT flag, the Locker Room's earliest date and the order's date pickers.
#Common questions
Expected dates are too early or too late. Check the freight table's Transit buffer and the Local delivery days and regions. Lead time is set on each product.
A product shows $0 freight. Its freight table may have been deleted.
Prices didn't change after I fetched live rates. Pricing uses the stored rate. Press Apply live → stored.
