Making an enquiry or requesting a price

Ask your supplier to design something new, or get a quote on a product priced per job, without committing to an order.

2 min read

An enquiry asks your supplier to design something for you. They reply with artwork, called a visual, for you to approve. A price request asks for a quote on a product marked Price on enquiry. Neither one orders anything. Nothing is ordered until you say so.

#Starting an enquiry

You can start one from any of these:

  • Home → Start a new enquiry
  • Catalogue → + New Custom Enquiry
  • Visuals → New custom enquiry

The form opens with "Tell us what you'd like made."

  1. Who is it for? Choose a sub group (a club, school or team you order for), or Whole account — no sub group. Choose this first, because the products list follows it.
  2. Enquiry name — what the job will be called on your artwork, emails and orders.
  3. What are you after? / Enquiry description — describe what you want.
  4. Products — search your account's products and the base range. If what you want isn't there, use Add a custom product. A custom product needs a description and a Size group. You can also pick a fabric from Choose a fabric and add colours; Use customer colours pulls in the saved colours for the group you chose.
  5. Attachments — up to 5 files, 20MB each. Logos, sketches and references are all useful. Images, PDF, AI, EPS, PSD and Word files are accepted.
  6. Press Submit Enquiry. You'll see "We'll reply with artwork for you to approve."

You'll get an "enquiry received" email so there's a record that your supplier has it.

Tip

you can also add base styles to the Locker Room with Add Enquiry while you browse, and submit them from there alongside any order. See The Locker Room.

#What happens next

Your supplier's designer draws up the artwork. When it's ready you get a "visual ready" email with a link to review it. See Approving a visual. You can follow the job under Visuals in the meantime. See Your visual jobs and their statuses.

#Requesting a price

Some products are priced per job. They show Price on enquiry instead of a price, and they can't go into the Locker Room.

  1. Open the product and press Request a price.
  2. Enter a Quantity per size. At least one size is needed.
  3. Add any notes, such as colours, a deadline or delivery details.
  4. Send it.

It goes to your supplier straight away as an enquiry marked Price requested. They reply with a quote. See Quotes. Nothing is ordered yet.

#Common questions

How long until I see artwork? You're emailed when the visual is ready. Ask your supplier about timing for your job.

I forgot to attach a file. Message your supplier, or attach it to a change request when the visual comes back.

Can I change an enquiry after sending it? Message your supplier. Once artwork is back you can also use Make further changes on the job.

I can't see a colleague's enquiry. You see enquiries for the groups you're assigned to, plus ones you raised yourself. See Who in your organisation sees what.
